Welcome to the Restoration Projects Map - About Page
The Restoration Projects Map was initiated in 2008 as a tool to identify current restoration project
locations, and identify potential collaborators for new projects. The project is in the initiation
phase and will incorporate additional data in the future. Contact the State Restoration Coordinator for instruction on submitting your data. We welcome suggestions for improving this tool.
Data associated with projects are commonly collected fields.
View information on collected fields.
There are limitations to collected pre-existing data from multiple organizations including but not limited to:
- Desired fields are not available because they are not maintained by the organization, or are not available to the general public.
- For projects that have not been initiated to date, project costs, project partners and other fields are not known.
- When data is missing, the field is left blank. When data is not available, the field contains n/a.
- The funding amount provided may only be a portion of the project cost.
- Matching and In-Kind funds are difficult to track and are not included in the funding cost.
- Project ‘Partners’ are not commonly maintained in organization’s databases on a particular project. Therefore, the data may underestimate the amount of project collaboration occurring on the ground.
- Projects are represented as points. Projects that cross county or legislative district boundaries may only be represented in one county / district. This may lead to a under representation of projects per county / district.
- For some projects, the exact location may not be known or publicly available (e.g. due to private property rights). In this case, an approximate location was provided.
- For statewide projects (e.g. restoration education), the town/county where the project is centrally organized is displayed as the project location.
- Only projects from 2006 to the present that are new or actively occurring are included. Projects completed before 2006 are not included.
- The data reflects information currently available and provided to the Restoration Projects Map. Not all organizations conducting restoration work have submitted data to this project.
At present, the map and database contain information from the following organizations:
